QR Code Scanner Certification Scheme

The objective of Testing and Certification of QR Code Scanner for UIDAI QR Code of e-Aadhar/Aadhar Letter is to facilitate availability of quality assessed QR Code Scanners. This certification scheme provides confidence that certified QR Scanners are reliable, safe, secure and meet the requirements.

Benefits of Certification

The main aim and objective of the scheme is to provide confidence to the user of the QR Code Scanner devices that the certified devices are reliable, safe, secure and meet the requirements. At present the scheme covers QR Code Scanner for QR Code of e-Aadhar/ Aadhar Letter.

This objective is attained by ensuring the QR Code Scanner suppliers are empanelled based on the following:

  • Suppliers are capable to supply QR Code Scanner which meet the technical specification of UIDAI QR Code of e-Aadhar/ Aadhar Letter.

In addition to subjecting QR Code Scanner to various tests, following demonstrable controls on device level, manufacturer level and supplier level will also be verified:

  • The QR Code Scanner are designed, manufactured and delivered to meet the technical requirements of UIDAI QR Code of e-Aadhar/ Aadhar Letter. Final test report and release note of the devices are available on demand.
  • The devices are manufactured at a facility having established Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Supplier has a system to provide confidence in the distribution and maintenance of devices.

Certification Process

QR Code Scanner Certification Scheme (QRCS-CS) for QR Code of e-Aadhar/Aadhar Letter Application process

  • Vendors need to contact Certification Body of QR Code Scanner Certification Scheme. Refer STQC Website (www.stqc.gov.in) for scheme documents and Point of Contacts.
  • After Submission of formal application along with TCF and other documents listed as per scheme to Certification Body (STQC Directorate), A unique Application No will be provided to Vendor.
  • Contact Testing Lab along with Application Number for SRF and Test samples (03 No’s) submission.
  • Payment should be made through NTR Portal (www.bharatkosh.gov) , as per the details provided by respective testing Lab.
  • Submit the copy of SRF, Invoice Details and BharatKosh payment receipt to Certification body.
  • Lab shall evaluate /test the sample submitted as per the Scheme Specifications. The vendor needs to coordinate with test lab as and when required.
  • Lab will send 2 copies of test report to Certification Body after testing.
  • Certification Committee at Certification Body will evaluate the documents submitted by the vendors and test report submitted by test lab as per scheme.
  • Based on recommendation of Certification Committee (CC), QR Code Scanner will be certified for UIDAI compliance.
  • List of the certified scanner will be published on STQC website.
