Electronics Test and Development Centre (ETDC), Bengaluru is one of the major quality infrastructure setup under the STQC network of laboratories, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. It was established in 1983 to cater to the needs of Indian industries with regards to Test, Calibration, Training and Quality related services. Since inception, the Centre is serving the electronics & allied industries, R & D Institutions, Govt. institutions, Public & Private sectors in and around Karnataka by rendering Testing, Calibration and Quality related services and has been recognized as a reputed independent test/calibration house. Over the years the Centre has upgraded the testing and calibration facilities with the state of art technology and has diversified its activities to meet the growing demand of the customers. Further it was augmented with Software test lab to support the IT industries and Government initiatives in the area of e-governance. The laboratory is well equipped with state of the art facilities, professionally qualified and trained Scientists/Engineers.
The quality system of the laboratory complies with International standard- ISO/IEC 17025 and accredited under various National & International certification schemes.
Recognitions / Accreditations
- Accredited to National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) in accordance with the standard ISO/IEC 17025 in the field of:
- Electrical & Electronics testing. (NABL Certificate TC-6225 may be referred for details).
- Electro-Technical, Thermal, Mechanical and EMI/EMC Calibration. ( NABL Certificate CC-2811 may be referred for details)
- Recognised by Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) under LRS( Laboratory Recognition Scheme ) to carry out safety testing for the electrical & electronics products included in the Schedule of the Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) notified by MeitY order.
- Designated as Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) to carry out EMI/EMC, SAFETY and Environment testing on telecom equipment’s / Products under MTCTE Scheme of Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC), Department of Telecommunications, New Delhi.
- Approved Test Laboratory under S Mark, Safety Certification Schemes of STQC certification Services in the field of Consumer Electronics and House Hold Electrical Appliances.
- Accredited under Indian Common Criteria Certification Scheme (IC3S) for Security evaluation of IT products.
